Hallam is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 34 km south-east of Melbourne's central business district. Its local government area is the City of Casey. At the 2011 Census, Hallam had a population of 10,162.〔 The suburb has its own railway station. Hallam is bounded by the South Gippsland Freeway in the west, Eumemmerring Creek and Hallam North Road in the north, a drain easement in the east, and Centre Road in the south. In a 2011 liveability ranking published by The Age, Hallam was deemed the least liveable suburb in Melbourne. ==History== The post office opened on 1 May 1889. It closed in 1981, but reopened in 1994. The Railway station opened as Hallam's Road Railway Station.
